Crux — find the move you can't go around
Find the move that's in your way.
Crux is one month old. We're testing this in the open.
The gap
Most people don't fail for lack of information, strategy, or capability.
You already know what the next move is. You've known for a while. Something between knowing and doing keeps eating the distance. It's rarely time, money, or talent.
On a climb, the crux is the one move you can't go around. Find it and the route changes shape. Miss it and you'll keep falling in the same place.
We're building a structured way to find yours, so you can live to your fullest.
The one move you can't go around
The method — three parts
AI-powered coach that actually knows you
Always on. No calendar, no waiting room, no performance. Some nights it's the mindset question: what am I avoiding, and why this again. Some nights it's tactical: help me write this message, run this conversation, make this call.
Available at 2am, when the thought actually shows up.
Closed-door dinners
Eight people, one table, no audience. Everyone brings the thing they're actually stuck on. Nobody performs. What's said at the table stays at the table.
7pm on Friday Aug 21 in SF — by invitation.
Retreats
Twice a year, in California / New York. Long enough to stop reacting. Reset, realign, rise.
October 2026 — twelve seats. Shape of it still open.
What a session actually looks like
A scripted example, not a live demo. The real thing is in testing.
- Crux
What's the thing you didn't do this week that you said you would?
We honestly don't know yet which one works better. Which would you want?
Where the evidence stands
We're not going to tell you this is clinically proven. It isn't — we're three months old and we have no outcome data of our own yet.
What is well-studied is the machinery underneath. Structured coaching produces reliable gains in goal-directed self-regulation and performance across controlled organizational studies.1 Coaching grounded in cognitive-behavioral and positive psychology methods shows its largest effects on goal attainment and self-efficacy.2 And the most transferable finding — that turning an intention into a specific if-then plan meaningfully raises follow-through — has held across 94 independent tests and more than 8,000 participants.3
We build on those. We measure whether it works for you. We'll publish what we find, including when it doesn't.
Who this is for
This is for you if —
- you're already doing well and it isn't the point anymore
- you can name the thing you're avoiding within about ten seconds
- you'd rather be asked a hard question than handed a framework
- you like being early enough to change the thing
This isn't for you if —
- you want someone to agree with you
- you're looking for clinical care — we're not that, and we say so again below
- you want a finished product with a support team behind it. Not yet.
- you want a daily streak to maintain. We don't do those.
Book a 1:1
We're running the first sessions ourselves.
25 minutes with founder Lily Kang. Free while we're learning — and we're learning as much from you as you are from us. You bring one thing you're stuck on. You leave with one thing you're doing about it.

Tell us what's missing
This is version zero. Argue with it.
We'd rather hear why this wouldn't work for you than have you politely join a list. If you tell us something that changes the product, we'll say so in the changelog — and you get a seat at the first dinner.
